Sunday School for children and adults, a midweek prayer meeting and Bible study, a Thursday Kids Bible Club at the Batavia Community Center, and Vacation Bible School every summer. Here is what each one looks like.

Children's ministry at Peoples Church of Batavia

Kids Bible Club

When: Thursdays, 6:00 pm
Where: Batavia Community Center
Who: Kids from the Batavia area

Every Thursday evening, Peoples Church hosts a Bible club for children at the Batavia Community Center. Kids hear a Bible story told well, sing, play games, earn a few prizes and have a snack, and they leave knowing one more true thing about God than when they arrived.

There is no cost and no need to sign up in advance. Parents are welcome to stay, and many do. If your child goes to school in the Cardinal, Fairfield or Ottumwa districts, this is an easy midweek habit worth starting.

Sunday School

When: Sundays, 9:15 am

Who: Children and adults

Sunday School is the first hour of our Sunday morning. Children are taught the Bible at their own level, and adults work through the Scriptures together in a class setting where questions are welcome.

If you are visiting for the first time, Sunday School is a comfortable place to start: smaller, conversational, and followed by coffee before the worship service at 10:00.

Wednesday prayer meeting and Bible study

Prayer & Bible Study

When: Wednesdays, 7:00 pm
Where: At the church
Who: Everyone

Wednesday evening is the quiet heart of the week at Peoples Church. We take time to pray for one another by name, for the missionaries we support, and for our community, and then Pastor Jack leads a study through a book of the Bible.

It is an unhurried hour, and newcomers find it one of the easiest ways to get to know the church family.

Each summer Peoples Church opens its doors for Vacation Bible School: a week of Bible lessons, music, crafts, games and snacks for children from Batavia and the surrounding towns.
