What to expect on a first Sunday
Walking into a church for the first time can feel like a lot. Here are honest answers to the questions people usually have.
- What should I wear?
- Whatever you are comfortable in. You will see everything from Sunday best to jeans and boots. Nobody is keeping track.
- What is the service like?
- We sing hymns together, pray, and then Pastor Jack preaches from the Bible, usually working through a passage verse by verse. The morning service runs about an hour.
- What about my kids?
- Children are welcome in the service, and there is Sunday School for them at 9:15 before worship begins. Many families come for both.
- Will I be singled out?
- No. We will say hello and be glad you came, but you will not be asked to stand up or introduce yourself.
- Do I have to give?
- No. An offering is received during the service for the members of the church. As our guest, you are not expected to give anything.
- Which Bible do you use?
- Preaching is from the King James Bible. Bring your own if you have one; if not, there are Bibles in the pews you are welcome to use.
